Title: EYE PROTECTION
Post by: VWPANZER1 on June 13, 2020, 12:56:47 pm
Just a reminder. No matter how small the grinding or drilling job is, or even if your working in a dusty environment, wear; safety glasses.

Yesterday was my third visit to the eye doctor. So far he has removed 3 small bits of metal and a glass-like particle from my eye. But worse yet there was a rust-like material embedded in the cornea requiring the good doctor to sand down and thin the cornea.

I'm now on three types of eye drops @ 4X a  day, this rendering my left eye useless for the next three days or even longer.

Side note: I wear safety glasses almost all the time. But I may at times just forgo it for a quick drill or grind job. NOT A GOOD IDEA.

No, this is the first time I had to use a professional MD to remove a foreign object from my eye.

If I had a nickel for every time I reminded my students to wear safety glasses in 32 years of teaching Auto Tech, I could buy a fully equipped Syncro Camper! Keep safe at all times. It only takes a minute to get prepared properly and safely. Be safe Joe!
