To all of you guys that don't have a fuel gauge...this might help. No more guessing.

Hmm, could consider that, good ratings, just wonder after using, and being in the trunk, if you would smell gas fumes or not.
Thanks for suggesting Nick!
Matt

I have a homemade one in my trunk. It dries off pretty quick so no real lingering smell.

I?ve already told Santa to get me one

I made mine out of a new (free) paint stick from Lowes.

filled it up and marked "FULL" with a magic marker.

3-4" from the bottom marked "E".

1/2 way between Full and E added 1/2.

Then halfway between the above figures added 3/4 and 1/4.

No smell, but then, how can I tell, as it always smells of gas, exhaust and
fermenting horsehair or whatever they put in the VW seats.

I'm going for the back-woods, Red and Green suspenders look.

  How's the bug ?

Hi Matt. The bug is doing ok. No real updates but I did halfway install a radio. At least now I don't have a gaping big hole in my dash. Haha. It has to be wired to the block though. I have to get speakers and enclosures next. It runs and drives great. Right now, I'm just keeping up with the maintenance. Fuel hose change, filter placement, etc.

Hope you're feeling better from the surgery. Stay safe and healthy.

At this point, if your VW DOESNT smell, something is wrong. Haha.
