If we don't want to plan it... how 'bout the  "Frosty Christmas Balls Cruise & Campout" Maybe another loop around Apple Pie Hill for those who missed it (The view will be way different) then Manny can make us a nice hot lunch & then off to one of Michelle's most excellent camp fires at the "Family Sites" (open til December 15)

Like we did before, we will do the cruise then have lunch and after lunch the campers will head to the campground to camp overnight.

Anyone that don't want to camp is welcome to join us to hang out at the campfire that night then head home.

And as cold as it might be, the fire will start real soon after we get to the campsite. Everyone bring some wood, we're gonna have a BIG fire to keep us warm!  :)

Arrive at destination about 10:15am
Will take a little side trip on way home.
Should be back in Clayton by 12-12:30.

If you live south of Clayton you can join the caravan anywhere along RT-553 (Buck Rd.). Last join-up place would be RT-553 & Buckshutem RD.

All we need now is good weather.

OUCH, thats my big toe....

Yesterday I made a stop on my way home from Shawn's house at a car wash in Williamstown because my truck had so much salt on it. The roads were dry and by time I got home (2 miles) the truck was full of salt again and I thought, thats not good, where did all the salt come from }dunn-- I guess the power stays on the roads, that won't be eeasy to clean off the bottom of TheStrap and with a possibility of snow forecast for three days next week there may be even more salt, so I took it upon myself to cancel the cruise till we get past Feb., our worst snow month.

I did it now and not latter (next week) so everyone would have a chance to see the cancellation on the boards, because not everyone checks the boards everyday or every week and I don't want anyone showing up and no one else being at the Acme.

That's why I canceled the cruise.

             heat? Whats that?

Heat is the thing that lets you feel your toes....

  -  %$oldcit  I remember back in the 80's when I drove my driving partner to work in edgewood maryland ~ 1.5 hr drive (all highway) with no heat in the winter. After 3 days of that he'd was chubbier than the michelin tire man(http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt345/SPARKDOG2/michelin-man1.jpg) due to his layers of clothes. At the end of the ride we could not stand up out of the car as our feet would be so numb we'd fall over. We just opened the door swing our feet out and stomp 'em the ground till we felt them  - then we could walk.

'Course was good to have a driving partner - freed my hands from shaving the ice off the inside of the windshield.  %$oldcit

Now those were frosty cruises! - Gets tiring after doing consectiive days of em - gets tiring  - real fast!

This may be a dumb question, but why don't you guys have heat? I have heater boxes on Herbie. It's toasty when you're moving down the highway. Also you can add a blower fan under the rear seat. You guys heard of heater boxes, right? ....
Title: Re: Frosty cruise
Post by: matt on February 21, 2011, 09:28:23 pm
The car was airconditioned via holes in the floor - and who knows where else.  One side of the heater cable tube was jammed with broken wire(s), I think the other heater channel was rotted, & any puffing heat we got out of that smelled like fumes, which my driving partner hated.

This is the only pic I have of the beast - wish I had more the front was horrible

I like fumes, they make me nap! 22CLOUD9)

I only made 14K/year working for the US Gov.,,  gas took a chunk of the 14K, I could have an apartment only if I never ate.
Amazing what you can find behind resturaunts in dumpsters...everytime I eat a doughnut, that is what I think of...

Took SweetPeas off the charger today and She Fired rite up.  **woohoo  Drove it to the barn to change out the Shifter.  (*driving) I let it run for a bit as I was messing with the stereo.  =bana4_+  I wanted the slider to face the barn and was facing the wrong way. So I went to turn around and As I pulled back up to the barn. (*speeder

To much rain in the forecast for me tomorrow...she is temperamental as it is, nevermind throwing a down-pour or two in the mix...

..........Sorry for the  Delay3#blab#  See what did you do to your VW today (http://www.sjvwc.net/forums/index.php?topic=6188.930)

All I could think of is  censor++.gif the oil cooler let go like The (Mug Man Rich's) Buss.  Fortunately it was the gas line where it meets the fuel pump.   (http://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/pathead.gif) I knew I was having issues with it all last year and I just kept tighting the hose clamp  a bit till it stopped. I had ordered the hose allready and put a new peice in. Rdy for a Wet and Frosty cruise now. (http://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/happy117.gif) Hay where are we going Anyway?  (http://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/fishslap.gif)
