Punch Buggy, Dam I had a good time today, how about you? Except for the short light shower you couldn't want a better day. Great job to everyone that helped out at the show, everyone worked their butts off!!! John G did a great job leading us to have a fantastic show. I had a great time! Couldn't find a nicer group of people to hang out with, and a lot of really cool vehicles were there. Nice turnout even with the rain. A good day :0)

Am I the only one NOT sleeping?
What a cool show. The rain could have ruined it. But VW People are awesome!!!
Everybody, 'cept old #53 whistleegi , hung in there and when the rain stopped we had a great show!
Thanks to everyone for coming out to support us. clap2-*
Now Tracy took 511 photos. Everybody always busts my chops that I never post ALL of the photos.
So to nip this in the bud... Here they are.... all 511 photos

Great Job everyone!
It's really amazing when you weigh in all the pitfalls of the event, the weather, a new and strange placement on the track and this being only
our second year doing this.
WE DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB! =+grouphu9
My hats off to each and everyone. Especially when we have to consider that the event was almost a "it's not going to happen this year thing".
Great Job John, we would not look so good without your planning and leadership.
Thanks to our President Shawn, who, several times at the last minute had to collect extra judges for analysis and awards.
And lets not forget JACK who had to trudge all that swap meet stuff in, SELL IT and truck the left-over stuff, tents, tables and all the rest home again.
GREAT JOB JACK! :jump4jo":
Now go take a nap you deserve it! clap2-*
-
Glen, great idea of bringing the bike, to spare Johns knees....
-
I must say, I'm impressed! clap2-* I didn't know it was only your second year of having that show, because it was very professionally and efficiently run. Looked like any of the many long-standing car shows that I've attended, so >.woot> >.woot> to you all! And for hanging in there till the weather cleared up 7&7sun , because it didn't seem that we lost that many people due to it.
Hats off to you! 5%5mexwave
+=ourlogo+= ROCKS!

Now that I've had 14 hours sleep...
I cannot express how great a show we had yesterday. To those who helped out my sincere thanks. It was awesome.
Some thoughts...
Glen, the bike was genius. Everybody bring a bike next year!
Marc, our grillmaster, you were the man.
Katey & Caitlyn (Hope thats right..I'm terrible with names) our Registration & Trophy girls you were the best. (Howard was in there too but I didn't want to call him a trophy girl! #@rofl3 )
Tyler's PA system was awesome!!! I want that bad!!!! and your library of "Rain" songs was the best #@rofl3
Mark (Slickspeed/DOTB) and his people did a killer job handling the Water Cooled side. Our folks in the parking areas & show car parking...Way to keep 'em flowing!
Certain members were on their feet and going the entire time... In particular Ramone, Jay(Jester), Howard never stopped!
To my wife Tracy, who sat there in the hot sun numbering hundreds of cards & sheets, and putting up with my censor++.gif ... me
You're the best!
Way to go everyone! :jump4jo":
But especially to everyone who paid to get in, and sat through the rain without a single complaint...
They sham-wow'ed their cars and we had one hell of a VW show! Thank You!
Shawn

My head has been spinning with stuff all day...
Matt was one of those "on-yer-feet the whole time people" as well. I didn't see him most of the day.
Michelle & Yucell were awsome traffic matrons and must be :jump4jo": :jump4jo": that a bus took Best of Show! #@rofl3
Who (besides) Jack manned the swap table?
Man I'm still riding adrenaline from yesterday!

Yea, I was sent to the rear end of the water cooled show to park spectators, saw no one for a long, long time bawlin)0 - Man, that is what I get for showing up a little past 6:30 am - sheesh! it's like solitary confinement.
Then to add to that, half of the spectators I had to talk to for where to park where kinda nasty. I seriously almost got run over twice - (*speeder I literally had to jump out of the way... Q3surrender.gif .............. .thought it was Jack behind the wheel each time ..................Whoever paid them should get their money back! - I still live!!!
I like to think people were eager to park and see the show. ....... My brightest moment however was when I parked a car and out came Karen 7&7sun - nice to finally meet and talk to her.
Howard helped with the back lot parking eventually, but I admit I wandered away soon after and left him stranded - THANKS and sorry Howard, - I blame it on my half-zhiemers. whistleegi
GREAT SHOW everyone! We endured both rains, and in the end the show could not have gone better...
THANKS TO JOHN for all of his hard work behind the scenes before the show.... and yes even afterwards during cleanup and takedown!

It's OK Jack, don't worry about it... John and I saw the preview pic of that shortly after it was taken so during the group photo we pushed out our stomachs and extended our shirts as much as possible... now your really part of the club!

Thanks Matt, that makes me feel better.
Matt is kind of on the quiet side but put him in front of a keyboard and he makes my stomach hurt from laughing so much.

&^rofl &^rofl &^rofl You guys are too funny!!!
Matt, that was so nice of you, thank you. I really enjoyed meeting you and the others I hadn't previously, and your "trophy girls" were just too adorable. People really tried to run you over? Good grief! Where's our bouncer? !! Trying to hit event staff should be instant removal from the grounds.
Jack you know what they say.. you have to watch out for those quiet types. ;)
-
a tremendous thank you to all of you guys! It was truly a team effort. I'll extend a hearty "I'm sorry" to the following people
to Matt- for sticking him in the back of the lot with watercooled buttheads
to Joe, Jim and Howard- for sticking them at the front gate- I heard it was kinda crazy out there.
to Yucell and Michele for putting Punch buggy on a day after what was probably a good party
to Marc for making him bar-b-que in the rain
to Jack for putting him in the swaps right next to the racetrack- we thought his hearing was bad before!
oh and yes- a BIG thankyou to Glenn for bringing the bike! My knees are still thanking you!
and again a big thank you to the entire club for all their help!

No need to be sorry John, I knew what I was in for, the 2 previous years were a lot worse at the gate. This year, the worst thing I saw was traffic backing up on Jackson Road at the entrance gate.

Hay I at least brought you a Coffie and a Cheese burger. &^rofl

And even delivered one to George!

I told MugMan how much money I had taken in at the Swap table and he said it was more then he had taken in, I could tell he was disappointed about not making as much as I made.
When I was done at the Swap table so I came back to the shirt table to sit and talk but Mug Man was so busy selling shirts I couldn't talk to him so I got up to walk around.
Now, I'm not to sure how true this is but I saw a guy walking by with a new PB shirt so I asked him how he liked his shirt, he said great it was free. I said how did you get it for free and he went on to tell me some crazy guy on a bike was giving out ten dollar bills to buy shirts and I said wow thats nice.
Now I'm not saying who was giving away money but he was on a bike and maybe he wanted to make more money then I did. Like I said, I'm not accusing anyone.

I love the way John sugar coats things #@rofl3

I believe he was referring to Buttheads that had the watercooled cars as oppsed to the buttheads that had the air cooled cars
Lets face it... Every group has its buttheads

Some more than others ( present company excluded of course), in my experience with car clubs.
