hey Paul,
I will answer but UNOFFICIALLY!
Cephus doesnt want to do it. I am assuming that he feels he is losing money so it is difficult. His business is not making enough cash to support any loses on the show and because of how he has managed the show, it is not making enough money for him.
The show still had plenty of potential. Could even be made into a money maker. He just needs to let go of it.
Hold on to those punch buggy shirts- they are now collectables.

For those of you that were not at the last meeting there is a replacement show for punchbuggy.
Volkstreffen
Volkstreffen will take place on June 8th at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
you can follow the event here www.facebook.com/vokstreffen (http://www.facebook.com/vokstreffen) and the site should be up soon www.volkstreffen.com (http://www.volkstreffen.com)
Hope to see everyone there!

i guess nobody can step in and take over.

Exactly!! I asked and offered... Can lead a horse bla blah blah
-
i guess he won't give it to the club?
-
nope
-
any particular reason he won't relinquish the crown?
-
i guess he owns the name but does he own the right to do a vw show at atco?
color me cornfused!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I wouldn't imagine that he has sole possession of show rights at Atco. Atco would have that.. Could it be renamed and circumvented that way?
If I'm wrong or out of line, feel free to scold me! Not meaning to step on any toes... =wink=
-
again UNOFFICIALLY!
He owns the name but by no means owns the rights to have a show. You could book a VW show tommorrow at Atco as long as it's not called Punch Buggy.
The reason Marc has started the Volkswagen Treffen show is to take the place of Punch Buggy. I dont want to speak for the club, but I think going away from this venue (Atco Dragway) is a good idea. From my experiences having to deal with the owner of the drag strip, he is a real pain in the pitoot to deal with. Plus the fact that the club can get a better deal financially through Marcs negotiations with the new track will be a win/win situation for the club.
Hope this helps- unofficially
-
uncornfused...thanks.
-
I'm unconfused too, but I unofficially thank you
-
your officially welcome

He came to our BODs meeting and said he will NOT be doing PB anymore. We asked if he would give us the PB name but he is undecided at this time.
-
Maybe I should bat my long eyelashes at him.......

If need be, punchbuggy will fade away, all the more room for Volkswagen Treffen - which will grow over time..
