At the monthly meeting the inaugural DUB & Dine Event was announced, to be held on November 21. DUB & Dine is an event held on the third Thursday each month until the spring Ice Cream Cruses start.
The idea behind the event:
As many of you may already know I am a bit of a foodie, with a love for finding and trying small unique restaurants in the local area. So after chatting with a few members about food, the idea for DUB & Dine came to life.
DUB & Dine is designed to take members on an adventure together. Trying different cuisines from all around the world, but found in our area. Primarily we want to find small venue, unique establishments. We hope this will be the start of a culinary journey for club members taken together. So, lets step out of our comfort zone and try something new, worst case, if you hate it, throw it out and get Pizza!
DUB & Dine is going to be member driven, so we will need your suggestions for local eateries that offer world cuisine. While working on the idea we have discussed, Indian Food, Traditional Mexican, Ecuadorian, Thai, and more!
Our Events Coordinator Greg will create a thread for Suggestions in Events.
The inaugural DUB & Dine will be to a Vietnamese PHO Restaurant. I'm excited since I have never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before. And if I don't like it, I'll get pizza on the way home, and check it off my list of cuisines to try.
As always driving a VW to the event is not a requirement, but it sure would be nice to fill up a parking lot with our DUBs!!!!
Bon Appetit,
3Gear

What time would a person have to get there....
Note work traffic timing.
Another great restaurant to go to ( have not been there for about 10 years myself) is the Casablanca restaurant just over the bridge to De. They just about finished relocating due to a fire. http://www.thecasablancarestaurant.com/index.htm (http://www.thecasablancarestaurant.com/index.htm)
Full 7 course meal, everyone is on cushions, have belly dancers and music for entertainment while you eat, the food is really, really good, - here is the menu with some options for the extremely curious diners... http://www.thecasablancarestaurant.com/id17.htm (http://www.thecasablancarestaurant.com/id17.htm) ( 3Gear, - go for the rabbit and prunes!) thumpup)-
so possibly when the finish relocating..........
Then again there is one in Phila on South street..........
-
:jump4jo": belly dancers, count me in.

&(rage_ rabbit and prunes, count me out.

I agree with that lol!

I can't read it, BBQ isn't exactly strange.
D&D destinations do not necessarily need to be strange, just a step outside the normal meat and potatoes / diner food & not a chain restaurant...
Remember to some, real BBQ would be a huge leap from their normal eating habits... My 2@cent
That being said, I know of a place that does Tasmanian barbecued stuffed goat head... #@rofl3

Well who is going? The Pho will take the chill of this cold weather we are having.

I'm in for sure!
You guys post it on FB as well?
What's wrong with meat and potatoes %$oldcit 2@cent
LOL Not a Gosh Dang Thing, whistleegi I have always been taught that variety is the spice of life!!!
So meat and potatoes on Monday
Tasmanian barbecued stuffed goat head on Tuesday
Haggis on Wednesday
Pho on Thursday
Bison or Wagu Burgers on Friday
Hot Wings and beer or pizza on Saturday
Squirrel Souffle with toasted ants for Sunday
See, perfectly normal variety! doh.gif
LOL ?/moon2.. clap2-*

I'll try most anything on a menu once, except for Rocky Mountain Oysters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Mountain_oysters) I'd probably skip on the live octopus in Japan too. (http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/places/culture-places/food/skorea-liveoctopus-pp/)
I'll also pass on everything on this list: Disgusting Delicacies- WARNING GROSS! (http://www.culinaryschools.org/cuisine/10-disgusting-delicacies/)
That list is a bit past where I want to take my Culinary Adventure, but would try Number 4...
Cheers,
3Gear

Umm.... I think I'll be passing on this. My delicate constitution would surely be angered by it.. You all have a great time byeby.,

If I can get out of work at a reasonable time #@rofl3 I will go..........

This sounds like a GREAT idea. And it's even on an evening that I can attend!
The wife (Carol) and I are in on this one for sure.
I've eaten at a Pho restaurant in Cherry Hill that was wonderful. Looking forward to trying this one.

Looking forward to tonight's dinning. &^beer& For those who never sampled Vietnamese cuisine, while it varies from restaurant to restaurant the basic cuisine has some unique and very complex flavor profiles-
It's not Tia, Chinese or Japanese .
It features a lot of fresh veggies and wraps. I once wanted to duplicate a sauce (oh yeah, the sauces can be out of this world). The receipt called for hours of prep and ingredients only available in Asian food stores.
I gave up, it was too time consuming.
-
Ill be there PHO Sure!!!
