At the time, what came to my mind was the 2nd to the last time I was at the VW show at Spring Mountain. People told me of an OG gorgeous split beetle heret the show, the owner bragging that he found it in mint condition, in a garage at a house where he was doing landscaping. They told me he said he approached the elderly lady who owned it and got if from her very, very cheap telling her the car was so old no one would want it. Most people ( but not all ) were pretty upset with him, Katie did not even want to see the car. To me, that is pretty much scamming the elderly which is despicable. And I am NOT saying this is what would happen to this couple, I just want them to know what their car's fair value is, that's all. Some years ago, my Mom was scammed out of thousands, which was a nightmare - fortunately was able to get it back through the courts.
Yea, I snuck out of work "early" to make it to the meeting... didn't see Karen there for some reason -
Good to see many of you again!
Ok, missed it was a 62 ragtop;, when you get to be my age, it's hard to hear. Actually, I'll blame it on Howard, at the time distracting me by talking and/or trying to steal chips off my plate.
