Feeler gauge strips
« on: April 04, 2008, 02:47:48 pm »

Does anyone have a source for feeler gauge strips 12'' long?  They are available at a few places I have contacted via phone and the net,but have a $25.00 min order, policy plus shipping, plus tax. They only cost a couple bucks.

The strips are either stainless steel or carbon steel, 1/2'' wide and the  thicknesses are same as the  standard feeler gauges in a set. My brother and father had some in their shop. Don't know where those got to, but some times it is easier to use a strip than to have a whole set of gauges in your hand. Plus the strips are a longer, making it easier to shove them into tight spots.

couldn't copy the link to one of the sites I have been checking out but it is:
www.easterngage.com -  click on products - then in the upper left hand corner of that page you will see the feeler gauge strips. Nice folks there but just need a minimum order of $25 & shipping
