Bio Diesel??

This is a bit off topic but today on the way to work I got behind a big Ford pickup, a "Dualley", thats a truck with double rear wheels on each side. I noticed he had a sticker on the back, "This vehicle runs on 100% vegetable oil". It was a big diesel "Duramax engine" pickup. Strange thing was it smelled just like french fries!  W1   184 rdone

Just thinkin, $4.10 for premium, $4.80 for regular diesel, when are the manafacturers going to wake up! I'm not trying to start a fight or pick a hot topic just for the sake of it but if we ( as a country ) had any sense Mazolla Corn Oil inc. would be bigger than Standard oil or Exxon! I think the farmers in the Midwest would be the "New Sheiks" and the cash would stay here at home.

Ok just my  2CENTS Anybody have any other thoughts on this one??  rant

I met a guy at the Southamton car show that had a Mercedes Desiel SW that he converted to run on used cooking oil he gets from a local eatery. It ran just fine and the exhuast smelled line burnt French Fries. He distills the oil himself. He told me how but it was way over my head. He had a lot of backyard engineering to make it work but work fine it did.

Saw that on "Dirty Jobs", I don't remember the process but I think it was a bit dangerous with some very serious chemicals used in the process.

Just paid around $20.00 for just 4 gallons of Super for my 72. Highway robbery!  fig2
Tomorrow is Monday and I get to buy a 1/2 tank for my truck. Last week ( actually about 4 days ago ) it cost me $41.00 can't wait to see what its up to now. Somebody has to do something, this is insane!

Bob there is horse for sale for 1500 on craigslist. Dunno if you need a wagon for it or not.  ;D

I think in the future we are all going to be forced to use horse and buggy.

Bob, Get the cycle running. I am getting 45mpg and the tank holds 7.7 gallons. Can ride all week. Downfall = no airconditioning.

Hey Don’t Be Fooled by this Scam… Bio-diesel is the Brain Fart of McDonalds corporation and the Hamburgerler himself  (-). Ronald and crew thought this idea up so that the other motorist  Jt3 on the highways would get the subliminal message and pull their cars and families into the nearest McDonalds for some tasty Bio McDonalds fries, and good ole fatty foods. Wendy’s  :icon_geek: has a similar scam going on but it smells like her!

good idea! but I need the truck for my shop don't think I can carry paper very far on the Suzuki. Then theres that AC issue!  :icon_colors:

You shoulda bought my Peugeot, that was set up to run on waste vegetable oil.  :icon_biggrin:
