if its the one I'm thinking of I know the guy who originally built it. It was sold to a waitress from atco about 9 years ago for $7000.00 and has been going down hill since.

they are a tough car to get right since theres no "kit anything" for them you just have to be willing to fabricate most of what you need. The windows are the biggest headache since the plexiglass windows haven't been made for years and its very expensive and tricky to have someone bend a set. The windshield is from a 63 Corvette coupe and actually the cheapest piece of glass in the car at around $275.00.

I'm working on an idea for my "doors" and I hope by next spring to have it back on the road, but we'll see.

When I bought the house here, the neighbor had a yellow Laser 917 with a corvair motor. It had a busted trans. (3rd one...Too much motor)
Could have had it for $1500. I wish I had bought it. I wonder what happened to it.

Tip of the day... You can bend Lexan on a metal brake! No heat...Just bends like sheet metal. (BTW Don't try it with cheap plexiglass)

good tip but on a brad the bend tapers with the roof line, bigger in the back than front. The roof sealing depends on this bend so its easy to get it wrong.

that doesn't surprise me, the corvair motor rotates the wrong way, counter clockwise. You can flip the VW ring and pinion to get things right or its possible with a reverse rotation kit to get the corvair to turn the correct way. Either way the VW trans is the weak link.  It was possible to use a corvair powerglide tranny but that was a tough swap so you usually didn't see kit cars with that one.

The main reason I didn't buy it was the door support. I got in the car, pulled down the gull-wing and the support folded and stowed with the end of it about 6 inches away from the side of my head. Just sticking up waiting to impale my skull if I got hit. It really freaked me out. It was such a cool looking car. I definately would have put a vw motor back in, but I couldn't help feeling it was a death trap

LoL LoL LoL LoL LoL

Lets face it what kit car / dune buggy isn't!
the Bradley is just a plywood & fiberglass shell with no metal except for the VW pan which does no good in case of a crash. Lots of guys cut the roof off to make a convertible only to find the windshield frame won't hold the weight of the windshield since its only made of plywood & fiberglass with no metal at all! I look at the silly thing as a "4 wheeled motorcycle" since a crash with it would have the same results as if it were a bike! Its fun but with lots of caution!

At least with a buggy you're ejected clear of the carnage  shocked
