Matt and everyone,
Yes, I think New Jersey has lemon laws for used as well as new cars. I say this because of my status as a ASE Master Technician I have been asked by several lawyers to check used vehicles for their clients! If a person or dealer misrepresents the vehicle, you have recourse!

Maybe you should take a look at Martin's (dasfusca) Ragtop. Its nearly perfect.
The VWs you can sleep in are more gooder
