Ive had great success with the Garmin Nuvi.

Tip: they have a Bluetooth model which works as a hands-free speaker phone when you pair it with your cell phone.
Also a lot of times they offer a Traffic Receiver with lifetime subscription to traffic. Its very cool for commuters. It receives information and highlights the roads in red, yellow or green to indicate road conditions

PS I went and looked and they're on sale on Amazon for $119. That's $160 off! holy mackerel

The VWs you can sleep in are more gooder

  The Garmin brand is the top pick in Consumers.

4x5 is an ideal size and fits car cell phone holders. Except the models with the flip-up antenna tab.

  Personally I think the less bells and whistles the better, but I would like on my next one to have "Lane change Assistance."

I never use the MP3 player or the photo storage.

Of course; spoken street names.

I'm not sure how good traffice alerts work in our area.

And how come you wern't at the party?   :confused04:;

I've had a Garmin before, and also have a Magellan Maestro.  Personally I like the Magellan better.  My Garmin (despite it's hefty price tag) died after short time, which naturally I wasn't happy about.  They're both good,  I just wanted to throw another name out there to think about.

Have my Magellan 4 yrs now and like it for the voice commands you can give it.

I also use "DRIVE" (a GPS app) on my iPhone, it stays up to date automatically
I don't have to go to work in the morning....
