"Don't be blue over your brake hoses" tip
« on: December 17, 2011, 09:35:42 pm »

Include in your brake job a change of the blue hoses that go from the brake reservoir to your lines to the master cylinder. Since these things most often have been on the car forever and are rock hard, I used a razor to first cut and spread the old ones open to not break the plastic nipples from the resevoir. To make the new ones fit without too much struggle, I threw them in the microwave for 15 seconds and then I stretched the ends with the bottom of a funnel. I then soaked the ends in brake fluid and slipped them on. easier than push-rod tube seals.
I don't think you have to bleed the system after you replace them....
