After a great "show n tell" given by 3 gear dude Marc at our last meeting I now know how to post pictures :jump4jo": I hope!
As most know I live on Long Beach Island which got hit pretty bad by Sandy last October. Holgate at the southern end of the island really got hammered. I live in Ship Bottom which is about in the middle of the island which is 17 miles long and 4 or 5 blocks wide in most places. Anyway we got about 4 feet of water on our street. Lucky for us the house is about 4 feet off the ground. We had to replace all our flooring but furniture, dry wall, insulation etc were OK.
BUT -- Poor Sunny was in my neighbors garage and got drown. Water was over the dash. To make things worse, we were not allowed back on the island for two weeks.
The insurance company wrote Sunny off as total, but he was to good to go to the scape yard. So I bought it back, not knowing what I was going to do, restore or part out.
With so much going on with the house repairs Sunny was not a high priority. Now that things sort of back to normal my son Tim and I decided to try getting Sunny back on the road.
I try and post the progress or lack of from time to time.
The pictures below show Sunny when we first got to the island.

Notice the coating of oil on the pick up, that was the high water mark. The oil came out of Sunnys engine.

Notice the water in the headlights.

Tim's pointing at the high "oil" mark with one hand and Sunnys old engine, which I had just cleaned up, with the other.

When we took the speakers out they still worked!

Still water after two weeks.

Don't take long for the engine to get funky.

Getting ready for the trip to Tim's. Water still coming out! But the flag survived.
