I got this 40 lb. Bead Blaster for Christmas at Harbor Freight. This is the large (and heavy) model that sits on the floor. According to U-tube, assemble time is 4-6 hours. Well I'm about 2 1/2 hours into putting 4 sides of this behemoth together and ready to add the top piece. Upon removing it from the box I see loose red paint chips. The damned Chinese painted right over the large areas of rust on this panel and packed it that way.
So I go to Turnersville HF late in the morning, not a soul there and ask the only clerk for the manager.
He, the disinterested clerk explains my dilemma to Kevin the store manager via his phone. Kevin won't even come out to talk to me. He tells the clerk the only choice I have is to dissemble it and return it in its original box for a refund. By the way, this is the same Kevin that when I approached him for a contribution to our Christmas party said-"You have to fill out a couple of papers and wait 4 weeks while the central office decides if your worthy."
So I take my rusty top, loose paint chips and my receipt to Vineland H.F. The cheerful clerk yells out for Bob the store manager, who appears up front in seconds. I show him the top and as I start to explain, He takes my rusty part and says "no problem, I'll exchange it," just like that.
Now this is the part that makes Bob (it might be Bill) a good people- person manager. He comes back and says he all out of stock, but I have two choices: One, he'll have the part for me tomorrow or he can return money to me and I can keep the part and repaint it. How Much I ask? $50.00. No choice there, I was going to paint it with Bed Liner paint if I didn't get a part exchange.
So, as for me, I will never buy another large item at the Turnersville store. Another plus in going to the Vineland store, Cumberland County state tax is only 3 1/2 percent.
I would also recommend that we never have plan another cruise to the Turnersville Harbor Freight store again.
