Jack:

Did you drain the oil and inspect the filter screen? That will tell a lot. (If you didn't do that already.)

No I did not, no way to pick it up to do that. Joe's Bugs can do an oil change when he gets it.

You buy your own bus, and do what you want to your bus. I'll do what I want to so with mine. Pissing off purists one modification at at time.

GREG:
I hope this will answer your question. ???

I bought a 1971 VW bus (with a seized motor)
I paid for the insurance.
I ordered the tags and paid for them.
All OUT OF MY OWN POCKET
To be used by myself and the club ( Jack has control over who drives it, if I can't)

Any more questions about the bus or motor I will let the B.O.D. to try and answer you.

Oh, so the motor that Jack fixed wasn't the siezed motor. It was a differnet one.

Correct, Jack is working on a spare I had at the house getting it ready to go in the Bus so we can have it running for this season and not have to wait to rebuild the bad one.
