Baja Owners, a word about Hagerty Insurance
« on: November 25, 2008, 10:55:20 am »

Just got rejected by Hagerty Insurance. During the application process they told me they didn't insure "Off-road Vehicles". I assured them that it would not be used for that purpose, and that it was built in that style but the suspension was stock.

The response as she looked at the photos I uploaded..."Uh Oh, it has a Baja Kit on it and we don't insure that type of vehicle"

That's why I put a stock front clip back on mine. Once I did that they were happy. Got the bums rush from every "Collector Car" insurer while it still had the Baja front end on it. Seems a half a Baja is OK but not a full one c23 2CENTS

I hate to say this Shawn but they are on to you. I won't say anything to them but I even saw you going through the pines, through giant mud holes and I even saw a picture of you going down the river with some boats. 888 Now if thats not off roading I don't know what is.  :icon_geek:

Yoo Shawn what in the Hell is that, looks like the lower GI track, not Warton Tract.   !fright!

On another nope, send me some pics of your car I'll check with my insurance co. They are actually better rated then Hargerty, plus a Zero Deductable.

The ONLY reasons I want this type of insurance is it recognizes a limited number of miles are being driven, the owner (me) is VERY protective of the vehicle and most importantly... It's being insured for a $$ value. I pay $1200 to insure the damn car now if someone hits me and totals the car, I get $500 which is book value!

I am not trying to get $200 a year insurance. I'd probably be ok with the current price if it covered me for $8000 in the evnt of an accident.

send me some pics of your car I'll check with my insurance co. They are actually better rated then Hargerty, plus a Zero Deductable.

Ill get you the pics. Thanks Jay
