I tried Beetleboi's new shifter & I really like it, way more better than the stock unit. There's a guy on Samba with great feedback that sells rebuild Hurst units. Anyone ever run a Hurst unit, did you like it ??? or does anyone have any other shifter recommendations  flamebug**

I've got an original in my Bradley GT. It has a shorter throw than a stocker and the trigger reverse lock out takes some getting used to. I understand Hurst still repairs them but I have no idea of the cost. The only problem I had was when a couple of years ago the rivets holding the bottom plate to a plastic spacer came loose and I couldn't get 1st or 2nd gear. I was able to mash them down enough so the movement was taken out of the bottom plate and I got my gears back. I also drove a car a friend had that was running a Berg shifter and I really liked that better than any shifter I tried but I understand they are $$.

Bob that's what happened to my quick shift. After Jack spent that time aligning my wobble stick shifter that I feel bad fixing the quick shift. Maybe in a couple of months.  ;D I'm going to use the nuts with the nylon stoppers in them.

My buggy came with one of the imitation hurst shifters and it was the worst experience ever.  RDB had a genuine hurst in it so when it finished its useful life I put the real hurst in the buggy, its a huge difference between the two.  If you can get a real hurst shifter go for it, but dont waste your money on the copies.

 I agree with Jim. The orginals were decent, and worked great, The Knock-offs are junk. The problem is the originals are kind of hard to find, and pricy.

For the money you can't go wrong with a Berg. Best thing going. The Scats are also decent shifter and they have a T-Handle reverse lockout.

I have the hurst Indy in mine. No ring, no reverse lockout, but it  shifts nice

Like this one but perfect. (This one is midding the ball on the bottom)

Would go for a Berg unit but I don't care for the style. I like this one on CIP1. A little pricey buy if it's bullet proof & lasts I'll go for it.
