At the last Board meeting I proposed splitting the BOD into Officers and Directors, adding 3 additional director positions. The Officers would be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Directors would include the Events Coordinator and Webmaster and 2 others.
* Officers would still need to meet the current stringent requirements for meeting attendance & membership.
* Directors would just have to be members for 12 months.
* Directors would NOT have term limits. This would allow ex-officers to remain as voting members of the Board (for as long as the membership votes them in) allowing them to continue with the work they started and make a much smoother transition for the new officers.
* A quorum would still be four, but would need to consist of at least 2 officers.
* This gets more people involved and creates an entry point to the Board of Directors without the need to take on the responsibilities of an officer
The Board unanimously voted to accept this proposal. It was announced to the membership at the May meeting.
The membership will vote on this amendment at the June meeting. If carried, the additional positions would be filled at the next election.
