                                               SJVWC MONTHLY MEETING
                                                  February 2. 2015

   
   PLACE:   Craft House, (formally)Taylor's Bar and Grill,) Williamstown NJ 

   START OF MEETING: 7:05 PM

   NUMBER OF ATTENDEES:  Over 26.
 
   PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE by members.

   GREETINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

   (A caveat of standard rules and procedures are announced)   


   MINUTE MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: Sean

   The report on the BOD meeting on January 15 at Sean?s garage, was given.

    Results of the survey about the club:((Note; this is also New Business.)

  The vast majority felt that the club is good the way it is. Some of the additional comments were noted:

   Cruises should have the address when posted.
   When is the next covered bridge Tour ?
   Another Web help seminar.
   Should members require to attend 2 mandatory events a year? Members, by a show  of hands were not in favor of this.
   More Beetles to show up at events as drivers.
   More tech sessions.
   More participating at other club events.
   Alternation cruises on  Saturday and Sunday
   Less Vanagons
   Less of the same people on the board.
   Do away with term limits-or extend
   Bring back Punch Buggy, or have our own show.
   If I was president I would- clean my garage.


   MINUTE MESSAGE FROM VICE PRESIDENT: Joe.

   Joe spoke on the ?Race of Gentlemen? held on the beach at Wildwood in October. This is the 4th year. Cars come from as far away as California. Hot rod magazine covered the story last month. Only for cars 1934 and older. They race a 1/8th mile. Only 3 classes; 4 bangers, Flatheads and motorcycles


    SECRETARY (Minutes) REPORT:  Joe

The minutes, as submitted on the club website were approved. 


   COMMUNICATION?S SECRETARY REPORT: Tracy

    Ramon  reported there is a new hamburger chain opened in St. Croix. V.I. called "Cheese burgers in America's Paradise". It's been reported that this chain will open a similar franchise in Capemay


    TREASURE REPORT Jay:

   Report was given and was approved.


WEB REPORT (Chris) :

   Question were posed as to where's are the Smilies? Chris promised to restore them.

    Web is running good.


   NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTION:

    No new members


 OLD BUSINESS:

   Updates on shirts.



   NEW BUSINESS:

    Dave volunteered to fill the post as recording secretary- Thanks Dave!!!

   Bank is getting returns of our PO box. We will correct this.

   Suggestions were made for using Twitter or a mass e-mail for last minutes updates, such as cruise changes or emergencies.


   CLUB MERCHANDISE:

   Glen is taking over from Howard. A suggestion was made
 for inside decals.

   The standard array of club items were on display and available for purchase


   EVENTS COORDINATOR :  Greg

   CRUISE DIRECTOR: SHAWN

    Breakfast with the Beetles, this Saturday at Shamong Diner.

   19th Dub and Dine Colombian Food. See club web site for details 



   TECH HELP -TROUBLE SHOOTING AND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS.

   Bus rolls backwards on driveway in gear.

   We discussed various bores and displacements for Anthony?s (cracked block) engine.



   PRESIDENT?S PMS AWARD (PRESIDENTS MYSTERY SELECTION):

    The only Beetle attending the meeting won the Wa-Wa card.



    WINNERS OF  DOOR PRIZES:

    Tracy won emergency flashlight.

    Jack won screwdriver set

   Martin won Volkstreffin glass with various goodies inside.

   Glen won 50 50 and donated the $40+ to the club. "Thanks a heap Glen."


   TECHNICAL PRESENTATION:

   Great fun driving the virtual VW Bus on a Race track. And again,?Thanks Glen for bringing and setting up your fun fill challenge."
