At the meeting I told you about the InstaBoost I got from my kids. If you missed it, I got this thing from my kids that is the size of a VHS tape in a case with a tiny set of battery cables and a few other accessories. Of course I put no faith in its ability to jump a car, but it has a usb port on the side and it charges my iPhone very quickly.
At Buses by the Depot, Sean Sage's bus was the source of entertainment for the evening, and the following morning I learned that his starting battery was what he was using to power the stereo we were listening to
He needed a jump. I pulled out my InstaBoost and plugged the battery terminals into it. I tell Sean "I have this thing but I dont expect it to work" He opens up the engine cover and I hook it up.
Push the on button and he goes up front to try and start the completely dead bus.
I spun like it had a REAL battery hooked to it and fired right up. I was amazed.
I was able to jump 2 additional buses that morning on the initial charge!
The coolest part is it comes with a cigarette lighter charging cable, so after it saves your butt it will recharge as you drive.
One of the secretaries at work had a dead battery in her SUV a few weeks ago and out came my InstaBoost. All of the Warehouse men had a great time laughing at me as I hooked it up. The stopped laughing when he truck fired up and I showed them that the charge indicator on the InstaBoost said it was still full.
UPS delivered 3 instaBoosts from Amazon 2 days later... Hahaha. One for the secretary and one for each of the loudest laughers.
Seriously, it really is an amazing tool and a must have for your VDub.
