I have a tent we could use. It's calling for some rain in the morning. It won't be heavy or last long.

Rich: Maybe we can setup the tent on Friday?

I’m sorry to hear. No worries about the air raid John. Family is first. I hope your dad feels better soon.

I want to thank everyone that took the time to come out to the air raid. You guys are truly the best! I couldn?t have done what all of you did. I am so gracious and I appreciate all of your help from the bottom of my heart..thank you!

I?m glad that the weather cleared up in the morning. We had a great day! You guys had the trans mount out and the new one installed in 1 hour tops! I?m glad that the rats nest of wiring and that dumb Viper box is out. Back to stock wiring. Awesome! There were so many little and not so little things but I?m happy they?re like new again. Like any vintage VW, sometimes you won?t find a problem until you touch it.  No exception here. But I have a list and I?m ready!

Seriously, you guys are the best! Thank you!!

Nicks Air Raid Summary
« Reply #44 on: April 14, 2019, 09:53:18 am »

Summary:

I'd like to first apologize for the lack of food and drinks. You would have thought these two would have been prepared  =stirpot-

The good:

Front tranny mount replaced
Bowden tube replaced
oil changed
fuel filter relocated
sun visors replaced
rear trans coupler replaced
rear seat belts replaced
front wiring mess cleaned up
reverse light wiring replaced and cleaned up
front turn signal lights rewired correctly
rear lights all cleaned up with bulbs replaced
Greg stuck to his diet while watching me stuff donuts down my piehole ^banana=

The bad:

The clutch cable is all jackwagened up and needs replacement because the shifter now gets jammed in reverse and is locked there. Really not good if you want to drive forward.  8rofl=

Brake light wiring needs to be corrected, replace brake light switches, steering dampner bad, so tanks gotta come out to make life easier and probably brakes bled or maybe even flush and refill brake fluid. Replace fuel line up there too ^banana=

Rear shocks suck and needs to be replaced

Axle boots are leaking

Rear quarter windows need all new seals. Celly has them all out but the vendor screwed nick by not including all the right seals, the convertible is covered now. but kinda opened to the rain

The worst news of all, Jack did not show up. =stirpot- 8rofl=

I'll try to work with Nick to get parts ordered and to go over and drain and remove the tank before:

NICKS AIR RAID 2.0- THE SEQUEL

Ill leave it to Nick to schedule that. It would be nice for him to actually drive the car to the picnic skid))

Healthy young bloods are always welcome to show up since most of us need Advil today 8rofl=
