1985 Peugeot 505 Turbodiesel...already set up to run on WVO
« on: March 08, 2008, 02:28:53 pm »

Not a VW but this has Jim Thw8's name all over it. I'm selling my Peugeot 505 Turbodeisel, already set up to run on WVO and includes a couple gallons of WVO. Runs good, body good, everything works. Sunroof, CD player, etc. I bought it with a bad title...the VIN had an 8 in it and the title had the letter B in its place. Subsequently I have not been able to title it. I have all the paperwork to fight it with the state or you can just go thru broadway titles or one of those places. I am selling it because I just picked up a Triumph Herald...running out of space quickly!
$1000 bo...
Best to call me 609-346-2846 and leave a message.

Dang do you know me or what.  Not so much for the diesel or WVO but just cause I likes me some wierd cars.

If it was $250 Id run it in the BABE rally (might have to fight my co driver to give up the mustang)

Really not in the budget right now, but sooo tempting just for the sheer wierdness of it all.

Triumph herald you say?  Gonna make a boat out of it? (just watched that Top Gear episode today) British fun....

Sadly now that I have this stupid cheap mustang I keep looking for fun things to drop the 5.0 into...a herald would be nice.  Got my eye on a Triumph GT6 that may get bastardized instead.

FWIW, having just done some intense research on this and since we all discuss it occationally.  Broadway and similar services paperwork IS NOT accepted by NJDMV.  So we are seriouls SOL when it comes to no title cars anymore.

I've used International Title in the past with no problems, and actually a friend of mine just used them back in January for his Thing with no problems from the DMV. Hmmm...
I may actually just go ahead and do it myself just to make it easier to sell...it will be priced accordingly at that time :)

I'm stoked about this Herald, its pretty wacky when I sit in it with my 6'3" stature...lol

That's cool to know, I was just on one of their sites the other day (ITS or Broadway, cant remember) and they said NJ would not accept their papers.
I just have it done to my dad in MD then do a family transfer....if I needed it.

The pug is cool, if I had time and space for another mutant Id be all over it.  In the current diesel loving economy you should have no problems with selling it.

For some reason Ive always wanted an Mi16 or whatever the heck its called.  Fairly sporty for a french sedan.

This is just a side note (Maybe I should make a separate topic for it in the general forum)-

You can also obtain a title through the state. Its a 14 step process and takes about 6 weeks. Its not hard, just annoying (stuff like placing a public notice in the newspaper, 5 state title search, etc). I did it once before a long time ago on a motorcycle.

That's how I did the type 3. Underline annoying. But it can be done if you want to do it.

Check out www.tdiclub.com a lot of good resources and stuff on there if your looking for WVO or SVO. WVO (and SVO) people are definitely a different breed.

I guess I should correct myself, my buddy who used International Title, turns out he used his parents address in PA. Its been close to 5 years since I've used them. So most likely it may be tough to use them in Jersey!
