Hey guys

Decided to take a break from Mikes engine so I grabbed the charged up battery for my 72 and headed for the garage. I parked the car at the end of the season last year after the Clayton show.  blu_bug The garage isn't heated so I pull the batteries and put them down the basement. Tonight I tossed the battery under the seat, hooked up the cables and she fired up on the second try!  blu_bug Damn after a long ( not so cold ) winter the bark of a dual set of dells through a burnt out "Quiet Pack" is music!  blu_bug She's alive and soundin as nasty as when I parked it.  blu_bug Now to change the oil & filter, do a valve adjust, change the clutch cable and I'm back in business! Man I love Spring!!!!

 burnrubber  coming to a cruise night near you!

thats my 72 Super ( 1776 and all the goodies! ) its got QQs. The Bradley is the next one to get the "wake up" treatment and trip to the inspection station  :police:, then the Corvair and if I have any time before the 4th of July the bike ( 81 Suzuki - been asleep since 91' ) looks like a busy season  ((( and thats just my stuff.

Hey Bob, does the Corvair run? What condition is it in? I havn't seen one of those since I watched that show with Ben Savage in it. "The Wonder Years" it was called. I think their main car was a Corvair.

Its a 67 and it does run but it needs new floors welded in and some rust repair. Heres a couple of pics...






Its a 20 footer, the paint looks good at that distance but it needs some body work and a good paint job, carpets & new seat covers. With all my projects this one is waiting until I have the time and hopefully I'll have the floors done by summer and I'll start driving it. Its cool for an "air cooled Chevy".

A little ? the car is burgundy ( the actuall Chevy color is called "Madera Maroon".

I'd love a set of Crager SSs but the wheels are 13". I'm going with a stock wheel, chrome trim rings ( deep ones ) and baby moon hubcaps. I've also got a set of fender skirts and some cool 60's accessories like original S&W gauges,cal custom fog lights, a radio that looks stock but hides an AM/FM & cassette deck, plus something I doubt anybody will remember but a stuffed animal for the rear deck called winkey cat, when you hit the brakes his eyes light up! Very big in the 60s.

I still love my VWs but the vair is a very different kind of Air cooled car and its fun checking out the idea behind both vehicles.

speaking of Corvairs  this guy in mt. holly who has a VW shop has a red and white Corvair pick up sitting in his lot its really neat

 That's a Sweet Looking Corvair..  $61$ Probably one of the few that survived the notorious engine fires. You've got to get that Baby Back on the Road.  drive&&

Thanks Jay,

But...Corvairs didn't have problems with engine fires, your thinking of Pontiac Fieros. The only thing they burned up was Ralph Nader! Everybody knows he is nuts!
