« on: April 02, 2008, 05:12:46 pm »

Hi guys has anybody used Z-Max in there WV's? I was watching the show "Two men and a garage" and they showed a segment on what happends to your engine parts with and without Z-Max. So I  Googled it and the pro's seem to out way the con's.
Has anyone in the club had any experience with this product. Just as an oil additive. drive&&

Thanks for any answers

If your fairly regular with your oil changes you shouldn't need it. Our cars are not as complicated as new ones. You are talking about the Ghia, aren't you?

I think that they use to advertise STP that it helped "Stop Teenage Pregnancy"  but apperently it didn't help. That or the teenagers were using it wrong?   c23

Is the stuff that is kerosene? I heard it's bad for the rings and seals or something. I just use high mileage Pennzoil or quaker state. I try to change my oil twice a month if possible, but my life is little hectic right now.

My car is a daily driver, so an oil change twice a month may be a bit much your you.

There was a discussion on another web site about Amisol brand oils. They are supposed to have a high content of zinc compounds and this is what has been missing or reduced in lots of oils. The zinc is supposed to prevent wear of surfaces like lifters & cams plus any "flat contact surface". I don't know much about this but did anybody hear of adding a zinc additive ? Just wondering if thats whats in Z Max ?

Use to run Kendal race oil in my race car. PA golden crude is the best oil in the world.
