Pans and heater channel help

Hey Guys & Gals.

Ok so im ready to finaly get my pans done, and would like to know if i need the heater channels to have the car structualy sound.
I have a gas heater if i need heat.  So if i dont need the heater channels i would like to bypass them if they are not essential to the bug.

Any help or info much appreciated.
Sorry i havnt been online much.  I have a ton of work still to do.
But need the bug running for this years shows.

Never mind got the answer.

I hope the answer was Yes, you need them but you don't need new ones if yours are good. The pans bolt to the botom of the heater channels

Sadly i need new ones.  Old ones are rusted as bad as the pans.

Should all be done by the end of the month.
