[/THEN you'll be bichen about the cops again when you get another ticket]

I found out how I'm going to hook up my cigarette lighter which means I can use a radar detector.

Unless I can get the factory stealth mode to work.  >:(

I want the Mezger name on it.

That cost's extra!

 ;D

Seriously though, my best advice is to start saving now & if possible try to get the big ticket / long wait parts (like cylinder heads & the crank) sooner rather than later. The way prices keep going up, by the time you have enough saved up to build an engine at today's cost, it will be double & you'll be saving / waiting twice as long. Not only will you get a better price on the parts, but some of them take a while to get (like custom ported heads) so even if you have the $, you're going to have to wait. If you get that out of the way, when the time comes for the engine to be built it goes a lot quicker.
As far as recycling some of your current parts, that is possible depending on what you have & what you want performance wise.

Hey thanks for the advice Ann, I was thinking about doing it that way too. Just buy several pieces over a period of time, I'm still young yet so I have many years to plan and prepare. Especially at 9.25 an hour  :o

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I have a 2006 New Beetle & it's a piece of s***  kickButt. In the two years I've had it has spend 8 weeks in the shop m-d &m& m-d2 Parts have literaly fallen off it. The electonics have a mind of thier own, It standed me once, replacement parts cost a furtune. Support from dealer and VW of America is the worst I have ever experinced. My daily drivers for the last 25 years have all been new cars and this is the absolutly the worst new car I have ever had :icon_evil: %6% I won't even drive it anymore. I swapped cars with the wife. Lease is up in 9 months. Can't wait to give it back
