Fall Englishtown 10/19
« on: October 19, 2008, 07:44:17 pm »

Well so far Englishtown is my favorite show. I'm looking forward to the show in the Spring!

Here's a Brief Description of the day, and some pictures as soon as they download.

Woke up at 5:00 and then 5:15, 5:30, finally rolling out of bed at 5:45 and out the door by 5:55.

I got lost because I just put NJ Turnpike into my GPS and what came up (which I didn't know till I got there) was New Jersey Turnpike Authority Park...  m-d

So luckily I put in Fenimore and it came up dunno why I didn't do first.

Get to the rest stop, nobody is there... I guess they left without me.

So I take a quick cruise around after seeing what I THOUGHT was a great kit of a fance 30's? Car looked like a limo Shawn told me it the actualy thing.  s#r

Then we find out someone one in the club had a blow out I'll leave that  booHoo* story to that person.

John shows up, than Marc we go inside shoot the chit and then go up.

It was a great cruise up, luckily John was up front and we averaged about 65 MPH Thanks John!

On the way up we were passed by about a dozen water cooled

and then the Audi crew

and at the toll plaza an early duel cab passed US... how the heck did we let that happen?!  kickButt

We get to the show, and after waiting for a good 10? maybe 12 minutes or so we get in and get set up.

There was a good amount of everything Except Bajas and Trikes... Mark and Richie one awards... Oh chit I was suppose to tell you there were 30 Trikes, don't tell Richie he was solo!!

The vendors were ok... didn't find what I was REALLY looking for but I got some seals and such for the engine pull.

There were a good 200 + cars there, 80 class 3 1-3 place trophies in MOST classes. Some classes wern't there at all like the Schwimwagon class  they decided to take the Atlantic Ocean up, and didn't get there in time.

John and I both agree that the races were bad, they spent more time cleaning off the track, than they did racing. Ed was there racing, but I didn't get a chance to see him run.

I didn't try the food... I spent the only 68 dollars I had on parts and ate some left over donuts from Breakfast.

Our club racked up the trophies

Mark best baja
Richie best trike?! not really sure what class he fell under
Jay Dipalma?! I think that's his name one best in show... though don't quote me on that.

Great show, I expect to see MORE of you there next year NO EXCUSES... THIS MEANS YOU....JACK.  m-d

Will post pictures in a minute...

OK for the record... I got there first and watched as BeetleBoi did giant figure eights through the parking lot looking for other VWs. He drove past me 4 times  drive&&

The best was that he really wanted to tell the guy driving the Excalibur what a cool kit car he had  shocked

Still waiting to hear if Beetle placed and what place Weezer took

First the Club Ridez

Louie V.

Marc's Baja

Weezer

Richie's Trike

Ed's Whip

Bridgette at Sundown

(I used the left tail light as the focus point, maybe I should have used the whole car instead... oh well still a neat shot I think.

NOW THE ODDER WHIPZ

Original Owner

Get it?!

This guy wanted to race Jay... but Jay chickened out...

I asked him about the batteries, and he said that with the batteries and the electronic motor, it weights no more than the original car.
Said batteries will need to be replaced in 3 years and will cost about 1000 dollars.

Looks pretty cool with the roof rack for he earlier bugs, could have modified it to fit better.

Haha I want to get one of these

There are some more in my album that are less appropriate...to post on this thread, album is titled "Englishtown"

My college drink of choice, I'll be happy to accept a bottle at this years xmas party  P#3 Also tastes great mixed with rootbeer... trust me.  :icon_puke_l: !5!

fast buggy

This was before someone chit on the track

This one looks like a hot wheels car doesn't it? love the blue and the yellow.

Can barely tell it's Weezer!!! Boy was John pissed.  gifsawsall weldface sqBk

This shot turned out great, I didn't even attempt to focus it, I can fix it the angle in iPhoto but I think it looks cool how it is, I'm all about different angles.

Ok  :icon_thumleft:

Told you it would be BRIEF.

Shawn no I didn't place, I was kinda bummed out because I thought I had it by default since half of the modified in my class LEFT. Oh well, Bridgette and I don't need trophies we have each other. I don't know If I could have any fun in a trophy car anyway, all that polishing and cleaning chit off of the engine...my ride home was great until I got around green bank and lost phone signal on a dark road for a good hmmmm 20 miles  :o .

Shawn. Oh-oooo no, Marc didn't pull that stunt again, did he? And Oh-ooo chit you fell for it, dang that Marc is one smooth moocher :-*. You know the one where he claims that he's having clutch troubles? He does that chit on purpose because his heat wasn't working and as the sunset the ride home was going to be chilly.   I1t

I have a herd of pics that I'm getting ready to uploading shortly, so this thread will be getting very long. I'm going to start another topic I'll  call it Part #2 keep an eye open  :clipboard_50x50: for it.

I've found over the years that judging is all up to the judges. Since there is usually only one guy that will judge the type 3's , if he likes original cars, then original cars are going to win . The guy with the green 412 just has a nice original car. It's not great but it is nice.

Hell, when I first brought weezer to Englishtown, Jeff from CJVW gave me a third. But again, he likes stock original.

It's all good.  WA#
