1935 BUGATTI kit car
« on: November 03, 2008, 10:21:09 pm »

Check this out. It's a 1935 BUGATTI kit car.. Listed on Crigslist, not sure if it's still available only Asking $1200. looks like it needs some TLC "like any VW" but would be a cool project in the right hands.

thats a weird one. Looks like a Frazier / nash kit. I've seen a couple of Bugatti kits and they usually don't have that type of windshield and the tail end isn't as rounded but comes to more of a point. Could make a real interesting project if somebody is brave enough.

Only a type 3 guy can do something like that.... rebuild something that there's no parts available for... let it go.

Nah! If a type three guy had started it, it would have been finished. Type 3 people make there own parts that they can't buy. We leave the bolt on crap  for you type 1 wennies.

John,

Believe me any kit car thats done the "proper" way has more fabrication than you would ever see in any type 1 or type 3. Most of these cars were put together by amateurs and the life expectancy can be measured is summers since thats about all they would be used for. Say what you want but 15 years playing with a Bradley GT ( the most popular kit ever sold and also one of the worst designed ) I can tell you theres no "bolt on crap" and its really never done!

As far as bolt on crap for type 1s think again thats what is helping destroy this hobby. Most people want to save a buck so they would rather buy "Bugcrap" than Berg. And thats why everything starts to look the same. The cars that really stand out are those that have been given lots of original thought and careful planning so they don't look like every other Vdub. Its these cars that elevate the hobby to places only the street roders have been!

OK you guys can have the soap box back!  2CENTS

I was also including Weezy in that group, I respect and admire what you've done with that car and certanly ( all joking aside ) you've elevated the type 3 to a higher level...

its not about which "type" is better but how well the individual car is built and refined, at that level "type" doesn't matter!

Now in the imortal words of Rodney King.................. fight=

"Can't we all just get along??"

In my case it's a body lift that elevates the car!  ::)
