I like something like that too...Bear in mind that if we adhere to a 4X7" oval, that we'll have to limit the number of models on the design so that it all fits. I'll let you guys figure out what models to include and hook me up with the ones I don't have for scanning. I have a '66, '67 1:24, a late loaf bus @ 1:43, and a few Johnny Lightning bugs and early bus @ Hot Wheels size. They had a 1:9 shocked scale Kubel at the hobby store for only $147.00!

Kubels out if space is limited...We gotta save room for the baja!

Bug, "loaf" Bus  (I love that one) we need a squareback. I'll look tomorrow. Oh hell...I forgot Ghia

What if the Loaf was sideways across the back with Bug, Squareback & Ghia?

I think we'll drive Brady nuts with all theses ideas. I think we should stick with our original logo.It not only look good and its well known In the VW community.

Amen, stick with the original logo. The lettering is large enough to be seen at a distance. Adding more detail to the oval will limit the size of lettering. Besides the original logo is  $61$   . My 2CENTS

Brady, I don’t mean to scrap having it done in a three or two dimensional design I just don't like changing the design.
what ever is decided, In the end it will be up to the board of directors if a design change is appropriate. Just my thoughts.

Jack, I get it.

My original post was to just offer my skills and services to the club for something that we either needed or desired for the club itself...I also want to be crystal clear that I am not trashing the club logo.

What's the road to hell paved with???  ;D

I can cut out some 4X7" ovals out of 1/8" AL if you guys decide on where the mounting holes need to be & what brackets would be required.

Bob, can you print something on AL or should I look into having a digitial print on vinyl done?

you got that right!

I still think if the original logo was done as a 'relief" ( help me here i don't know the term ) thats if the background could be lower than the image and say painted black. The letters, logo and flames would be slightly higher than the background, not 3D but just raised up a bit and left as a brass color or whatever the material color was. I think that would look great and you wouldn't have to change the basic logo.

sorry can't print on metal, thats something best left to silkscreening.

No Brady, I wasn't thinking that at all. I was thinking if you have 20 guys, your going to have 20 different opinions and I didn't want you to throw your hands up and say the hell with it because of all the ideas flying at you. I surely appreciate what your trying to do.

I can give you one or more of our vinyl logos if you need it.

Bob, that’s exactly what I was trying to say. I think if you headed up 3 or 4 other guys and handled this as a committee with Brady it would be better then everyone being involved till you came up with something to show the members.

  My  2CENTS:

I agree with Jack, go with our logo first. This is our standard.   sjvwc.ico

Then later try the more creative avenues, such as made to specific model genders.

I like the logo. I looked at the trike today to see if I can put it some place. I would like to attach it to my plate, but a motorcycle plate is smaller then the car plate. I get one any way.
