I'll be parting out this car in the coming weeks (promised my wife it would be gone by Christmas!) - let me know if anybody needs anything. Most parts are available.

Pending condition. I'm interested in the complete Front End, including steering assembly. To claify this means the complete frontend from the front of the windsheild / door hindges foward.

 Also interested in the rear trailing arms.   

 Whats up with the Trans, if any good I'm interested. 

 If you want I can stop by to chop those parts off. How much?

 Better yet let those that wants to pick the other parts that they need take them,  and as long as it's a rolling chassie I'll tow it away.  :icon_thumright:

The body is really bad - front strut mounts are rusted, so it's probably no good (the front clip). I'll get better photos for you.

DaVerted needs the top mechanism, bow & pads (if they still exist)

Got the mirrors, need seals,scrapers back glass.  Looks like the bow is cracked, could use the straps & pad if intact. Any vert interior trim. Vent windows. I think thats it. ???

Somethings been buggin' me (pun intended) I'm looking at this car...It's an SE... A Triple Black! The last run of SE Convertibles. There was only 1 per Dealer. Shame

Interested in both doors (if they aren't rusted completely thru), the wheels, the dash clock and bumpers. I might be interested in the fuel injection parts, or the whole engine if it is still available. Let me know how much.

I agree...it is a rare car & a shame to see it parted out. But...seems to me that a lot of people don't like the later models as much as the '73 & down ones.

     1) Cause after you put $10k worth of parts and labor into it (mostly labor) you have a $6500 car.
Which means you have to do it for love, (which requires disposable income)  d-s d-s d-s

     2) It's a $300 Rust-bucket that the owner can get 3-5X that for selling parts  d-s d-s d-s


There's awful truth...
He tried selling it for a reasonable price with no bites so parting it is the only choice, that and if there was such a thing as a Triple Black Standard Beetle (as opposed to Super), and that car was one of 'em, it would have been snatched up as soon as it was listed.

Oh yeah and my post was an attempt to give the car a value so maybe somebody with more skills or d-s than brains might save it from the reaper !5!

I totally agree, it is a shame that it is being scrapped. I would be the first person to try and save it... if it was saveable. Trust me, it is too far gone. I'll post some photos of the rust later. I was told that it was left standing outdoors for a number of years - looks like the rain got in through the roof and it rusted from the inside out.

I happen to like these later cars - I owned a '79 Champagne Edition (Triple White) Cabriolet years ago - had to sell it when I decided to go back to school. The later Super Beetles drive much more like a modern car. I like how they look too. I think they are under-appreciated right now - but I'm sure that will change.
