Some good news on the old subject. Met with the Zoning Official today at my house. He looked at  my property, the site plan, house location,  and listened to my reasons for the proposed garage location. After much thought, (about 10 seconds), he said "ok, I don't see any other place where you can build", but I need a variance which he explained is a formality and took me through the steps in that process. So it's off to the clerks office now for the forms. :icon_cheers:

That's great news! Let's hope that you have nice neighbors...In the end, they are the ones who decide if it's a go or not...

That's great News. By the way, they don't come a asking, they usually simply mail out a notice to each neighbor who's property line is within 200' of any edge of yours. But each Township may vary. The best way to handle that pesty neighbor is  .///

I don't think that neighbor will be a problem since he is not an upstanding member of the community, has had numerous run ins with the law and just last week was taken from his house in hand cuffs. What an exciting day that was, BO** wish I had my camera.

Yeah Brady, I could write a story on this guy. Slashed tires, spray painted cars, and it's not like we live in the city where stuff like that is common. We live in the woods lol.  ;D He yelled at me for driving my 65 Falcon around our property telling me how it was illegal to do that, a total nut job.

Greg, get in on the planning asap. Perhaps you can get a loft over the garage for the bachelor pad! BO**

Now there is a good idea Pat :icon_sunny:, nothing could be better,  but would be too much d-s d-s d-s and zoning would be a problem. Besides I would then really have to keep and eye on my parts pile. LoL

Just had another good meeting with the Zoning Officer and staff at town hall this AM. They are now just about bending over backwards to help and I am very appreciative.  BO**
And by the way the subject of the crappy neighbor came up. Because of the variance I must notify neighbors that I intend to build. Every one in the office knows about the bum and said not to worry about him. "He will not be a problem" :icon_cheers:.

as long as the neighbor doesn't raise a stink.

With the township- keep smiling and go through the motions. It may take time but it sounds like it will pay off! BO**
