Thinking of lowering my Beloved Rat. I think the pics speak for themselves but I want to know what you all think.

Beet, this is all your fault :-*

Marc, I kinda like it at the hight it is now. I feel like your bug is more of a baja b/c of the cage around the engine so lowering it would make it *in my opinion* look weird.  The higher ride hight also gives it that beefier look. With all our projects it is what you make it. Do what you want.  ;D

Leave it up. It looks best with the rest of the car. Wouldn't look right lowered. Kinda like , you weren't sure what look you were going for.

Your car looks cool as is. :icon_cool:

Have to say, I think it looks good both ways. Although I like Jacks Idea, slam the front and leave the back up  :icon_cheesygrin:

I have been considering lowering my baja ever since I got it, since it is a "street baja"  I think low riding would look cool....  just my  2CENTS

Lowered would look  $61$ but you will have to  really watch the road for high manholes etc. @7@
I don't know how fast my car will go.
It's more important that I know how fast my car will stop.

Was thinking about that, would then have a wicked rake  :icon_twisted: My only concern is with that much rake could it have any adverse effect on carb float level or oil pickup in crankcase  ???...If I do go lower was also thinking of loosing the engine cage. I only put it on for protection not any kind of look. Feedback encoraged & appreciated  :icon_cheesygrin:

Beetleboi -Greg-

If a lot of people do it, it cant be that bad. I try to check my oil with the car level by going up a slope or drivng onto boards. As far as oil levels while drivng shouldnt be a problem, with the rake i dont notice any fuel problems either just know that the fuel gauge may be off a little. ;D

I wouldn't worry to much about the carb float worry more about the affects on your frontend camber, etc. Besides that too much frontend rake is a bad thing.

But my  2CENTS are that you already achived the look you wanted, now it's time for a change. Slam the damn thing already, will you! That or give me that damn car for a few weekends, and you be happy with the end results when you get it back.  vwlogo (love

If you never were to take a chance how would you know? I think you could have a unique look when finished.  s#r  sjvwc.ico

Hey Marc.. You car would look killer too with this simular idea. This could start an entirely new fab. I picture a slamed down Baja with fat wide tires low profile tires.

Hey maybe I'll do this to my Baja.. It could be the new Lowride.  s#r s#r s#r s#r

OK, I removed the coil over shocks & replaced with KYB's. This lowered the back end a little more than an inch & gives a much nicer symmetrical reveal between tire & fender. Front to back rake is now just an inch which levels out the overall look. I like it much better and will leave it this way. Have never been happy with the several rear light treatments that I've tried but I finally came up with an original idea that's never been done before. Will post pic's when they are approved  flamebug**
