OK before someone says "Da Butcher! he killed a split window car" just check it out. The guy must be a wiz at metal work cause this one looks very cool. Gives you ideas, some of our metal masters ( Jay, Pat, Frank somebody??  gifsawsall ) should give a try at this conversion, just use a later year car.

I don't want to believe it... But I'm with Beetleboi on this one. The work is amazing but that roofline is just goofy looking.

even if you don't like the results, you have to admit the guy did one helluva a fab job. just too bad he used an early car. I do like the side view, looks like something out of the 40's. I don't think any heb ever had a hard top.

Hebmeuller was a coachworks... They converted completed beetles. There were prototypes for a hardtops that were destroyed in a huge fire

I've had the pleasure to see 2 of them in person. A few years ago the one from Delaware showed up at Campbeltown PA. Also a guy named Terry Schuller who was a writer for the old "VW Trends" mag. and author of several books on vintage VW's  showed up at MapleGrove with one. They are amazing cars with their 25hp engines and antique touches like early "cotton covered wiring", a true antique and rare!

Heres a couple of sites if anybody is interested.......

I watned to build one of these, back in the day.

Customotive made (or still makes, not sure) a kit for the Beetle (or Super) called a Eurosport

From an old VW Trends

I found their website but it looks old. Says the kit is $2500 + $500 for the optional top

Combine that with a Volksrodd setup and you got one cool little hotrod

UPDATE:

On their site is a picture of the family getting into a New Beetle...It's semi recent. Maybe they're still available.
