Servo with a 1500 engine

Shortly I will be looking at fitting a remote servo to the westy, I have done a bit of research ad have hit a snag, my van currently runs a 1500 single port, as these engines were never fitted to a car with a servo, there is no servo pipe on the manifold, so I will need to fit one, my question is, what is the best way of doing this?

Any ideas?

Is it automatic, what are you using it for. mean by servo and what does it do? maybe we use a differant name for it.

oh sorry thought servo was used world wide, its a brake servo for when I fit front disks

Thats why I asked if it was an automatic, they have a vacuum clutch servo and it almost looks like one, even the way it mounts.

We would call that a Brake Booster, or power brake booster.  :icon_cheesygrin: I never saw one before.

Getting back to your question  I1t The autosticks have a manifold with the pipe you need on them but I forget if they ever had one on the single port manifold.

You would have to remove the manifold and drill a hole and weld you pipe on it. (I guess)  :icon_confused:

It's funny 'cause we were just discussing this very situation in the pub meeting location last night. Those have a tendency to bog the motor (they steal it's air for a second). You can overcome it with a vacuum "reservior". Something like a quart can with a one-way valve (towards the motor) that keeps it from stealing from the motor, but builds up while operating...

Apparently I can get one from a 1500 auto, it has the right diameter pipe for the servo sorry brake boser ;) I have just managed to locate an almost new manifold so may get a pipe welded on there as the chances of finding a Genuine one are probably quite rare, althoug saying that i'm not sure i'll be fitting the brake booser right away, i'll see how the disks are on their own first.

Parts have arrived from Canada, havent seen them yet though they are at my parents!!

Exiting times ahead!
