Hopefully Bob doesn't see those Mofoco heads.  ::) Bug looks great, it's a shame you didn't keep the bug yellow. I think the yellow VW count would have been up to 5 or 6.  ;D ;D Power in numbers...I forget who said that. Great job, I guess that's what they call a body off restoration!

Jack  --  Stop by tomorrow and help put in the windsheild if you can. Rubber is on the windshield and a side piece of glass. One side is in. We got to go to the vet at 11:45 so you can still get a nap!

Wow, what a great job!  How long did it take to get the body off,   I hear if you've done a few, it can be done real quick - a few hours?

beleive the std beetles are easier than the super's................thinking of doing mine.........just thinking......

  Again, looks very nice!

Takes a little time. Disconect steering, cabels, wires. Un-bolt body from pan. Lift body off pan and start checking things you missed. One of the things I missed is the speedo cable. If your bottom of the body is rusted like my wife's you got to brace the body with steel tubing. Place the body on something and strip. Then give it a good bath. Carmen, Patrick, Jack and myself rebuilt the pan. We replace every part, with new, from front to back. This included drums, brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, rebuilt stock engine, clutch system, cabels, CV joints and pan. Then we painted black. The body was fitted with new fire wall, heater chanels and rear cross members. Prime and paint before you put the body back on the pan. My wife and I paid to much for the car when we bought it, but I did not know anything abought good German steel! The car was really worth about $400. Good luck! All you got to have is good friends, time and money!

Jack came over yesterday and made sure the heater box levers were installed right. Got rest of door parts yesterday from action motors and will start on the doors Monday. Looks like a few more months and the 72 will be ready to roll as new!
