Was an avid fan until Bill France Jr. took over from his father. All he wanted to do was to make money by franchising the NASCAR logo. Then under political correct doctrine pressure to try to open more markets, Unical & Winston went bye bye. The whole field of cars are now owned by a handful of people. 2,3, even 4 car with one owner. And then there are the shell owners, who are relatives of the owner. No more racing back to the green flag, pit road speed limits, restrictor plates. Cookie cutter cars with no resemblance to street machinery. I could go on and on. NASCAR is dieing & I predict that it will go the same way as Cart did & destroy itself from the inside out. Bottom line is you had a southern sport  with a nationwide hard core following but in their greed they alienated their base by trying to expand the market. Hence they now have less fans. Than when they started. Ticket sales are way down as in TV veiwership. Bottom line is that I was a hard core fan for 30 years but gave up on NASCAR in the early 2000's. The last straw for me is when they fined Dale Jr. for "s" word on TV

Boy bud, you had to ask c23  Easy now Mark  :icon_cheesygrin:

I still love Nascar but don't travel to as many tracks as I use to, in fact its down to zero because I can't walk the distance you have to and clime the stands anymore.

I'm with you on that Jack, even with my press pass and my friend Tony Stewart (aka  Greg) I have to sit and watch it on my TV. I did get a box of goodies from the pit crew.

I havent watched since the late 90's. The long and short of it is...It's show business. There's too much behind-the-scenes BS going on that the fan never sees, which is what ruined it for me.
