Hey so as some of you may know, my parents went away for their anniversary. Which leaves me no choice but to cook for myself  booHoo* S@Sm s3 :icon_puke_l: :icon_puke_l: Wanted to know if you guys knew of any quick and easy recipes. Yes I know how to make PBJ, Grilled Cheese, and Tuna Fish.  BO**

Probably making burgers tomorrow, might use the rest of the meat for tacos the next day.

Elbo macaroni with butter & grated cheese, Spam makes indivual wraped single serving. Just micro wave for 45 seconds slap it on a piece of bread with a slice of cheese. Wife does not cook much can you tell LAUGH@

1 can of Campbell's BBQ Beans (NOT Pork & Beans) If you cant find 'em use Pork & Beans, drain them & add BBQ sauce till the can is full
1 med Onion (Vidalia is best)
3 Tbsp Butter
4 hotdogs
1 tbsp yellow mustard

slice up the hot dogs and onion. Sautee them in butter a skillet until the onions are soft & the hotdogs browned.
Add the beans & mustard and simmer for 20 minutes or till you dont feel like waiting anymore

$6.50 makes 2 giant servings... that way you have one for desert. LAUGH@

If you have a crock pot this will take care of breakfast for a few days. This takes a little time to put together but it is worth it.Pretty cheap too.
You will need:
a couple/maybe three fair sized potatoes
an onion or two(depends on how much you like onions) I like them
a bell pepper and mushrooms 8 oz pkg (or any other fresh veggie you like)
a small can of whole green chile
a package of cubed ham (my fav) or any other kind of sliced meat you like:turkey beef whatever
couple of packages of grated cheese the 8oz ones your choice of flavor
8-10 eggs and some milk

Peel or not peel the potatoes (your choice) but wash them and slice them about as thick as a poker chip and set aside.
DO PEEL the onion, not a good idea not to peel it slice a bit thinner than a poker chip set them aside
slice up the bell pepper(take the seeds out) and mushrooms and set aside
Open can of chile
Open package of meat
open packages of cheese

Now we assemble in the crock pot  :icon_study:
layer of potatoe
layer of onion
layer of green chile (couple strips)
layer of veggies...it really is OK if the mushrooms touch the bell pepper
layer of meat
layer of cheese
repeat until crock pot is fairly full
break eggs into some container that will hold them add milk and stir until mixed: add salt pepper and whatever spices you like to the milk and egg mixture
pour that over the stuff in the crockpot. If it is not enough to cover the stuff break a few more eggs and mix them up and add it to the pot.
If it is too much pretend you are Rocky Balboa and drink it. LAUGH@
Now turn to crock pot to keep warm(low if you don't have a keep warm setting) and go to bed.
When you wake up you will have a 3 or 4 qt. (depending on the size of your crock pot) omelet. If you do have the keep warm setting and it is not quite done just crank it up to high for a bit.
Back in my younger days I used to make this up and put it in the fridge before I went out drinking. I would pull it out and turn it on as I staggered my way to bed. So my hungover self would have something to eat in the morning. f+t
Just kind of wing it on how much of what you put in.
You might as well get a start on cooking. After you move out and before you get married the crock pot will become one of your best friends. :icon_thumright:

That's for the help guys!!! I'll let you know which ones I try. Dagerm, your's is pretty intense I bought these cheese danishes for breakfast, so breakfast is covered. Jack: Mom never let us have TV Dinners... there's probably a reason why.  ;D

Worked it to 9 dollars a day. Since breakfast is covered, and lunch is pretty easy to find something to eat in the house. I don't think I've ever seen the tops of the shelves in the fridge before!!!  ;D Dinner is the problem.

Today I had a flatbread. So good if you havn't tried them you must asap, an apple nantucket nector and a bag of doritos. It came to about 8.25. Not bad. I'm going to be doing most of the cooking Thursday-Sunday Monday is the meeting and my parents come back on Tuesday.

Went a little over board with my groceries...and I didn't really get that much stuff.
Had a 40 Dollar Budget
Here goes my list
1 Onion
2 Package of Lettuce
1 Box of 8 Quarter Pounders
1 Bag of Shreaded Mexian Cheese
1 Cube of Cheap Processed cheese
1 Buritto Kit
1 Box of cereal
1 Gallon of milk
1 Jar of Apple Sauce
1 Can of chunky clam chowder
Which brought to 39 something... barely made it.

When I move out I really gotta learn how to grocery show, I also did much better at ALDI but we don't have one where I live.

Anywho

This should last me today and tomorrow.

It was freaking amazing... and way worth the money I spent on it.

If I go camping this is probably what I'll bring.

You shoulda made the recipe I sent you and made a burrito out of that. GOOD STUFF!

Here is another one for you. It will take care of your sweet tooth. If you can't handle this....... @7@

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (Microwave)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because,
now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of
the day or night!

Goodyear...suburb of Phoenix. Maybe if I left the 9th of April......
Besides I have heard of too many strange things on the East coast.
I have heard rumors of strange green things that grow out of the ground and are called blades of something. How do I walk on knives? ???
I have also hear of a terrible giant that lives in that area...he only comes out in winter and has dandruff so bad that the ground turns white for several months at a time. !fright!
I'll stick to my sand dunes and gila monsters....nothing like going swimming after a big ole Thanksgiving day meal. :icon_thumright:

So I made the cake in a cup... it was ok. I might suggest using the chocolate chips, we didn't have any in the house so I didn't put them in.

Mom was like you had to do that with my good mug huh? Actually I don't think I have my own mug.

Came right out of the mug!!

Hey, you try getting a good shot of yourself with a 2 pound Nikon D40

Yeah... maybe I should have mixed it better. My friend told me I should have used baking flour... I didn't know there was a difference? I'm pretty sure that's what I used anyway.

Chips make a big difference....just don't put too many in or they all sink to one end. That happened to me. I thought there was a mistake with the recipe. Every one knows that 3TBS = 1/2 the package.  .///
