Central Delaware
« on: May 29, 2009, 07:44:17 pm »

Hi All... I am new here , my name is Kevin. Looking for folks interested in Vw's and buggies and volksrods.....I have a buggy under repairs and a 1973 Super in pieces that was to be a baja bug. I know , not the best starter for that. Willing to share time and effort with anyone willing to do the same to get some projects finished. I have parts to trade or sell . I have limited technical abilities but can twist wrenches and heave stuff around , its just more fun working with someone with the same interests. Really want to finish this buggy.....cant stop thinking about building a volksrod......hope to hear from some good people in the VW crowd. thanks kevin.

Hey Kevin,

WELCOME!! :icon_cheers:

You are at the right place we have several members who have or are building buggies so please feel free to post and fire away those questions!

Our webmaster Jack has been working on a rat rod and I'm sure he will jump in here soon.

I've got a 72 Super but not a Baja but again several members have this type of car and ask enough questions and somebody is sure to know the answer!

technical abilities are something you can learn all you have to be is willing to try stuff so you are on the right track. Again don't be afraid to ask a question, somebody smarter than me once said "the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask!"

again,
Welcome!

Bob

Hiya Bob , thanks for the reply. I'm not afraid to ask "dumb" questions . Matter of fact I'm quite good at it.  :icon_cheesygrin: Would like to maybe join the club and get to some of the functions and shows. There are many ideas out there that could help me I know. Neeed to get out and see what is going on. The area I live in seems to be a dry spot for  vwlogo interest. Hoping to get some replies to prove me wrong. Great to hear from you...Kevin.

Hey Kevin
welcome to the site. there are a lot of shows coming up, some in your area, some worth driving for. Are any of your cars running or close to running?

Kevin

If you want to join you can on line , just check the club store and read the "new members forum". We'll be out at "Punch Buggy" in force along with Central Jersey VW Society a club north of us. If you don't have a car to bring make up a list of parts and bring some cash, good flea market and tons of good vendors. If this is your first VW show then hold onto your hat! get ready to see all kinds of dubs, air cooled & water cooled plus some great drag racing ( VW style! ) this event is in its 25th year and still going strong. We'll have a club tent so just look for us and be sure to stop by and say hi!
