Anybody popping out or installing new glass in the next months or so, I'd be happy to volunteer to help you out - Theres gotta be a trick to this install based on what I was reading, and Id rather learn it from somebody who's been there, then get all bungled up and put my foot through it.
I also got a few of these things that pull up floor tiles with two huge suction cups that I'd donate to the club.
I could just wait and let the glass just fall out, based on how crapped up the seals are, but that just makes for a bad day to the guy riding behind me..........

there's no real trick to it. Takes about 15 min if you don't have to do any repairs to the body.

Is this a 67 you want to do?

Do you have the new seal?
I don't have to go to work in the morning....

I WISH it is a '67!!!!

Nope, its a newly gotten '74 super beetle - I missed PBD to go and get it...

Havent gotten the seals yet. Too much to do on the mechanical side. Any rec's on  what type? Seems lots of minuses on the Cal -look stuff on CIP1...

Thx Jack.

I'm in Sewell, right down the road from where the dust-em off was held last year at Wash Lake Park...

Cant see being curved making it much harder... probably would want 2 people on the outside instead of just 1

Pay particular attention to the cord (rope or insulated wire) That's the trick. Putting a cord in the grove of the seal & s-l-o-w-l-y pulling it out to the inside pops the seal over the sheet metal. It takes a minute to get the technique but it's not hard to do

alot more tricks than just the cord

I have a curved windshield on the squareback- I have taken it out and put it back in at least 3 times. Only broke one. Be sure to buy quality rubber. The brazilian stuff is crap

Hey, thanks.

This ought to be interesting...

Just figuring out right now the cost of a new windshield versus buying "beverages" at the next meeting for anybody who wants to work with me on this for a few minutes...

Got it running today and somewhat driveable... gotta get new rubber and brakes on it next...and a steering dampener, and shocks, and replace some fuel lines, and, set the valves, and... and,,,, and...

I had a "pro" put in a new windshield on my bus. The old glass had a large crack and several chips. It took him over an hour to get it to seat right. He almost cracked at one point. Curved glass can be tricky.

I live about a min away from the park. I never did one but, would help out any way I could. I would like to see it done in person.
