Bugs and Busses by the Barnagett Bay 09
« on: July 26, 2009, 07:22:16 pm »

For those of you who missed this show you missed a great one! As much as I dislike car shows, this one was great because it was FREE and this time there was no judging so there weren't any trophy snobs... well there was one guy $horing out his collection. Anyway it was "cancelled" due to poor weather but about 20 VW's showed up anyway.

Here are some pics, video to follow soon.

One of the few shows I look forward to each year :icon_cry: and love being right on the bay. Not being on a cruise with you guys makes it feel like something is missing in the day.

Well I did get my door fixed around 1pm. Now I can close it again and open it. :icon_cheers:

I would have loved to have lunch with you and your dad but I was so tired by time I got your message..... Greg there was no way I could get my a** moving to go out, thanks for thinking about me anyway.

This was a super fun show!  The weather was beautiful and there was a nice breeze coming off the bay.  We met some nice people, including Bob from Pemberton who cruised over with us.  There was another couple that had the same year bus as BamBam ('75) but theirs has the blue/green interior.  It was decked out "Margaritaville style"!  Turns out they were the ones that stopped in the minivan when we did our cruise through the pine barrens and were taking photos by the lake.  Hopefully they will come to our next meeting!

Jack- we did miss you. I'm glad you got your door fixed though.  There's always the cruise to Shamong Diner to get your fill of VW comradery.

We had a blast!  I wish more club members would come out to this cruise, such a great ride and great location (not to mention FREEEEE).

Bob (Superman BUG) it was great meeting you and we hope to see you cruising with us soon!  Jim and Greg you guys are always ready to cruise rain or shine, and I will convince you guys to cruise to Maine next summer!  Tyler and Maryann cruised with us VW or Not and we were happy to have them... wait till Tyler gets the Mini Bus on the road, he'll be famous all over NJ!!!

Jack we missed you, glad the door is fixed, shoot all missed ya... even the old farts at the craft fair were asking for ya LAUGH@ LAUGH@ LAUGH@ LAUGH@

There was a particular type 3 also missing sqBk???

Lucky, I dunno what it is about Maine. Out of all the family vacations I think Maine was the most picturesque for me. Maybe it was just the lobster.
