The carb was rebuilt less then 2 months age. The wire on the electromagnet is attached. I have elec. dist. so I don't think it's timing, but who knows. Maybe clean out the carb again. Maybe put a couple gls av gas. I don't think the gas will hurt anything.
The book said very seldum does the electromagnetic valve goes bad, but it could. That would shut the engine down. I don't know what else to do.

Doesn't the solenoid cut off fuel to the carb inlet?

I don't know how to check the electromagnet valve. I assume the electric works because it also powers the choke.

If the solenoid itself is bad it can still allow power to go to the choke.
Unscrew it from the carb and ground the threaded part. Then run a hot jumper to the connection tab and watch if the plunger moves.

Probably just unscrew it and hook the same wire back up. Turn on the ignition and just touch the threads to ground.

Unscrew the solenoid two turns and see if runs OK like that.

For more years than I can remember, the first thing on my shopping list at swap meets was always; Pop-out windows. I can across plenty of late models -Bigger glass and the latch goes through the glass. the early ones with smaller glass and the latch is attached to the frame, these are rather rare. Richie was  willing to sell me a shabby pair for 500.00 dollars. "But Rich I can get new repro for 400." "Yeah, but they're not genuine German."

So this year at Dubs in the Shrubs, I came across an ugly pair. It had only hinges but no latches or seals. Most people passed them up because they had a hideous purple tint that was in shreds. I bought seals and hardware at the show from Smitty.

Using a straight edge razor blade I scraped off the old plastic tint. Acetone did nothing. I polished the alumium frame with a Dremmel and mild rubbing compound. It came out like new.

I sent for new chrome latches from Wolfsburg West. Top quality chrome and workmanship. I can't recommend Wolfsburg West enough, also best prices on the web. And also came with two pairs of knobs, white and black.

After a couple of days of struggling, I got one pop-out window installed. Unfortunately, my iPhone isn't  downloading my latest pictures.
