took my new speakers out to the garage and set them on the car, thinking about installing them was to much for me, went back in the house and took a nap.

That old saying necessity is the mother of invention or in this case if you can't get the right part jury riggit bob mindelli will appreciate this being in the printing business. I was missing the heater duct part that goes from the back bulkhead to the side heat tunnels I was talking the car up near new York and wanted better heat and defrost thanks to George he directed me thru the correct way to hook up my defroster vents in the dash but I had to get something to direct the air thru using an old offset printing plate and a pair ofscissor I cut the aluminum and shaped it into a tube, using silver foiled tape to seal it up. Surely not to win any engineering awards it works very well and now I actually have to back off on the heat setting. If anyone has that little ductwork piece for a 72 super beetle let me know. I also need the little ball know on the heater control. I'm also having an issue with my fuel gauge it just stoped reading on day, I checked continuity on the wires where they go and connection is solid. I was told by one guy to  disconnect the wires from the sender and connect a 1.5 volt battery there, I gauge should rise I did the and nothing happened so I'm auusing the gauge unit in the speed is shot if anyone has that part too let me know attached is a photo of my"engineering"IMG_0003.JPG

I got a center console to mount my new radio in I measured very carefully to put the hole for the shifter in the very center.

Well guess what, the Freeken shifter isn't in the center of the tunnel.  &(rage_ I only have myself to blame for not seeing that till after I cut the hole.

I had to grind the hole bigger for the offset

I know if I put the shifter in I will never be able to get the console in. I'm going to have to grind out the whole shift plate area so so I can put the shifter in after the console is in.

I think the console should have been marked where to cut for the shifter and I may have to grind the shift plate so it fits. The panels I got for the speakers just arent going to work. &(rage_
