spent all yesterday in the pole barn working on the 52. pulled engine to install new intake manifold. need to reset the throttle ring clearance via the thermostst.
the noise i heard was throttle ring hitting the fan and not bearings in the generator like i thought. new accelerator cable, new roller pedal, grease front beam and pedal assembly.
waiting on generator pulley hub and pulley plate. piston rings, new tranny oil and engine oil .......should be done by spring.

Does that roller pedal increase the cable travel at the Carb? Had a problem with my Dads car, and was wondering if that might help?

The "Z" shaped linkage under the pedal may be loose. That is usually the cause of lack of cable movement! You can get a rebuild kit here:

A 71 don't have the Z linkage but the pedal can bend and the arm with the roller on it can bend or you may just have the wrong cable.

Try undoing the cable at the barrel nut at the carb and see if you can pull it past the barrel nut, if it does the cable is to long.

If memory serves me right, I think a '71 has a small roller under the pedal. The pedal is supposed to follow the roller. The pedal may not be making contact on the small roller?
This may help?
