Gave Joe T the 50 cent tour of the TMG  and 4-1-1 on the Champagnes Engine. While showing him how the retainer wires work to hold the pushrod tubes in, I discovered there were no retainer wires holding the pushrod tubes in

#banghead

Apparently the PO thought he was smarter than the team of German Engineers who designed the Type 4 engine.  ?/banghea?/
H

I can understand how the PO ditched them as they are a real PIA to put in I imagine it could run without them but let's do it right and get em. It's way gooder .

Just unsuccessfully played with SuperGlue and inhaled this crap and got it on my fingers and rear shelf.  #banghead After using double sided Velcro, SuperGlue and 3M adhesive, I just figured out why after a few hours of trying to have this stupid third brake light not adhere to the glass what the problem is.  +=mystery)?

JACKWAGEN!

Simple, he used his secret "Lets get folks pissed off" spray on the ends when he hooked this POS up.  So, club members, beware. -eyescan.=

I'm thinking that he used it on Sophia when it took hours to get the brakes done, or Tylers engine when we had to drop the engine four times.   #@rofl3

Worked until midnight last night on the Jetta.
I have had a power steering belt squeal for a few weeks now.
The PO had installed a solid rear motor mount that I removed 1st thing when I got the car.  #banghead
Unfortunately the vibration and lack of proper torque and lock-tite caused the power steering pump bracket bolts to loosen and one to fall out. bawlin)0
If I hadn't fixed it I dont know what would of happened if it fell off!
To do a PS belt you need to remove the ac & water pump belt. Turns out the AC compressor lost a bolt too. No wonder it made a racket!
Luckily I had a few bolts in my stash but I had to remove everything even the mounting brackets, re-tapp the threads and put it all back together.
It runs great now!  **^bana0
Just goes to show, even the water-cooled guys sometimes thing they are smarter than German engineers!

Was basically told I have an expensive hobby, and I should consider finding a better paying job.   ?/banghea?/

Installed a throttle to trans cable in Irene. Much easier than the bus.
