I have one of those Buddy Heaters. It's great, but why buy a used one when a new one is slightly more. Note, that the 2009 models have been upgraded from the earlier models. Slight changes but upgraded due to problems.

The one below your looking at is the one I have and it has a high and low setting, on low it lasts all night and that has been warm enough for me.

The heat goes stright up with mine also, don't radiate out to far, thats why I close my top at night to keep the heat down.

I've read they dont last all night, and I think you had that prob, and with the campers you can really hold that heat in

I just found this, as I was wondering about it....

" Coleman Defective Product Case Goes to Trial: California Personal...

PRWeb

October 28, 2009

Trevor seeks compensation for severe and permanent bodily injuries resulting from the use of an alleged defective heater, Coleman's ProCat PerfecTemp Catalytic Heater (model 5053).

.........The lawsuit, filed against camping equipment manufacturer Coleman, alleges that the company knew the propane heater was faulty since they had received previous complaints and warranty claims, and knew of other incidents and fires. ".....

Trevor Dennis, who was 8 years old at the time,...........

............Trevor retired to their camping trailer, which was being heated by a Model 5053 ProCat PerfecTemp Coleman propane heater. Later that evening, the heater malfunctioned, which caused the trailer to burst into flames with Trevor inside. Most of the trailer was destroyed and Trevor sustained severe burns............

....The plaintiffs allege that due to excessive heat emitted by the heater into its own internal plastic housing and components, which are combustible at relatively low temperatures, the heater is inherently unsafe for indoor use. The plaintiffs further assert that these plastic components would catch fire in the event of a gas leak from any location within the heater -- including a diaphragm failure -- which, in this case, ignited and led to the catastrophic fire that injured 8-year-old Dennis............
