Volkswagans on the River 2009 ( Yuma )
« on: November 11, 2009, 08:14:21 pm »

This past weekend we had the 8th edition of " Volkswagans on the River "
Here in Yuma, Arizona.
Had a great time with 67 entries for the show on Sat.  BO**

As the group does not maintain a treasury of any kind, we start out
with nothing and all proceeds go to charity.
Our community of Sponsors provide the raffle prizes and food at cost
or donated free of cost.

The camp-out on Friday and Sat. nights brought in people from as far
away as BC, Canada, many from Phoenix, Lake Havasu, and New Mexico.

Thus far the count is $4400+ going to Amberly's Place, here in Yuma.
This is a shelter for battered woman and their children.  Amberly was an
abused child who died as a of a result of beating.

Tomorrow night we will present the check to Amberley's Place at our
post show meeting.

Get involved in your community, do some GOOD  (love (love (love

Looks like a good turnout and quite a few camping for the event. Was looking at photos on TheSamba.
