Have you even seen this bus in person yet?
How can you be sure that it is 'the one' ???
It's akin to getting on eHarmony or Match & seeing blurred neck-up pics from a potential date.
Ya gotta see it in person. All the karmic/magic/joo-joo/feelings in the world won't make up for a bus that needs more time, energy & $$$ than you are realistically willing to dole out. I got a good slap back into reality when I drove all the way up with a truck & trailer to northern NH with a $6k lump in my pocket to buy what looked like a real solid '68 Westy a few years back. The pics looked great. The buyer had a sentimental name, as did the town, telling me that this must be some kind of omen...
Well the virtual bubble of peace love & happiness was burst wide open when I saw just how much mud was in the body (nose was hit pretty hard), the undercarriage was rusted thru in spots, it smelled like someone pissed all over the interior, and there were ACTIVE wasp nests all over the thing. I drove it & the motor was tired, the suspension worn out & the brakes needed an overhaul. I went home with my tail between my legs and was sad about it, but not stupid enough to say to myself, "Well...you came all this way...might as well just get it" - Done that before & didn't want that experience for myself again.
So...not to piss in anyone's Cheerios, but ya gotta go look at the bus and use your LEFT brain to make the decision. Buying vehicles is a good test of whether you really use your LEFT brain to make the decision, or if you are seducing yourself again, getting caught up in fantasies...(this is how we ALL get into trouble in life...tricking ourselves)
Personally...I REALLY HOPE that this bus is the mutts nuts and that it is solid enough for you to drive & enjoy without a ton of work to make it road worthy. Be smart & love yourself enough to check it out objectively...
