Say it an't so.  @3#

I think you will regret it. I have regretted most of the cars I sold.   @7@

There are storage facilities that are more reasonable. And like Bob said; the tent types work great. You would be surprised how many show cars use them.

You may find that your VW appreciates faster than most other imvestments.

I don't understand when gas was $4.00 a gallon the cry from the oil companys was that there was not enough refinerys now they're closing them? Who dosn't think that gas will go back up? Makes no sense. m-d

Depends, unlike cars if shes a 1950's model with flawed paint and a sagging trunk no problem! a nice 1970's and up model with a great body, nice paint and tight suspension...different story! - we are talking cars? right ?

Here's what you might not know....

The oil companies are mothballing their refineries under the guise of the slump in the economy
but in reality our wonderful government plans to levy a huge tax on oil profits. Ya see, we were all
so pissed off that the oil companies made so much money..... The gov seized the opportunity "punish" them for being bad

They did this in 1980 and our dependence on foreign oil doubled

Keep your VW's boys, we'll need 'em

Like Joe said - it is a good investment Steveo, one that cant be beat. At least it did not crash like stocks/mutuals funds did.
Katie and I will be really sad to see it go, always had a good time when you were there parked by us. That thing is a beaut!

are we all makin this a little harder?

but I do understand if you really need the $$$$
In some way try to alert the Japanese VW nuts, they pay the big $$ for cars like yours....

Not only that. There is a monster refinery in India that is starting up/already started and the thought is they will dump cheap a** gas in the New York harbor, which sets the benchmark for refined products, and the refineing industry will go the way of the steel mills, tire makers, toy makers...etc, etc. America is for sale people. :icon_cry:

I'm not selling because I have bills. I'm selling because it costs me $170 a month storage and with my schedule I don't drive it much. Plus, I'm setting myself up in case something does happen at work. We all know the refinery business isn't the best right now...Valero Delaware City closed, Sunoco Eagle Point closed. If it takes 6 months to sell..oh well.

Hey Steve, you can leave it in my garage for free. Just leave the keys.
I don't know how fast my car will go.
It's more important that I know how fast my car will stop.

Sorry  99off but here's another tidbit that not too many people know... If the oil compamies or ANY US business wants to open up overseas, the US Government will not only assist with $$$ but will insure (refund) EVERY PENNY invested if the venture fails.

Go to opic.gov

I love the line, "The Overseas Private Investment Corporation is an independent government agency".....
