Thats cause they're "PIPE" benders, designed for plumbing pipe. The dies are the wrong size.
There is a trick for using it though (in a pinch).
Cork one end of the tube, fill it full of sand and cork the other end then bend it.
Sand wont let it kink (sometimes)  :icon_blackeye:

Yeah, I've read all the modification articles, sounds like more work that its worth.  Bending up a legal cage is hard enough.  I've actually found a local builder who is doing one to our specs for a great price and since my welding isnt all that great we'll probably go that route this time around.

more gooder.  :icon_thumleft:

The sand thing is actually stolen from how they bend Chromoly. You can bend sand filled mild steel on a oil drum, telephone pole, fire hydrant, aluminum light standard, traffic light pole, chain link gate post.
I think that covers all the radii.  LAUGH@ LAUGH@ LAUGH@
The VWs you can sleep in are more gooder

There are 3 kinds of people in this world, The kind that can count and the kind that can't.

Kinda how I bend brake line. assorted cans, jars and bottles for different radii.  I have a bender but its just easier to grab a can and bend.
